      What is a zero governor?

    Where is it found?

Zero governor - A regulating device that is normally adjusted to deliver gas at atmospheric pressure within its flow rating.

The governor reduces gas pressure from about 12" w.c. to zero. It must be understood that gas is not injected into the fuel/air mixer,

but rather drawn in by vacuum. As combustion air enters the fuel/air mixer it creates a vacuum on the bottom of the zero governor’s

diaphragm, causing it to open in proportion to the vacuum. As the air flow increases, the gas flow increases. This maintains a constant fuel/air

      ratio at any firing rate.
